Welsh Medium Lecturer in Criminology

The University invites applications for the post of lecturer to develop Welsh medium provision in Criminology. This post is funded by the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol. This is a fixed term part-time contract starting on the 1 February 2018 until the 31 July 2018. The ability to communicate fluently through the medium of Welsh and English is essential for this post.
The successful applicant for the lectureship will be an individual who has completed, or is near completion, a PhD in a relevant subject, or who has professional experience in the field; is able to work as part of a team and independently; and is able to play a full role in teaching undergraduates and postgraduates, recruiting students, and administration in the Law School.
The post holder will become a member of a wider community of academic staff in Aberystwyth and across Wales who work towards achieving the Coleg Cymraeg’s objective of ensuring comprehensive status for Welsh as a teaching and research medium in the university sector. The post holder will play an essential part in achieving the Coleg’s national plan for Criminology and in reaching the targets set for the subject with regards to Welsh medium provision and the number of students who study through the medium of Welsh.
