JOB PURPOSE:

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an accounting professional to join the flagship Aberystwyth Innovation and Enterprise Campus (AberInnovation) company as its Finance Assistant for a maternity cover.

 

This post lends itself to a confident individual with excellent technical and communication skills. The successful candidate will take a role in assisting the day-to-day financial inputting will liaise directly with the Finance Manager to ensure smooth financial management.

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager the role will include the following duties:

 

Financial administration

  • Inputting of supplier invoices in preparation for pay run
  • Monthly third party customer invoicing
  • Raising monthly office and laboratory tenant invoices
  • Monthly record keeping of payments.
  • Assisting with public funding claim submissions and collating evidence for claims

 

Business activities

  • Maintain a list of tenants and members
  • Tenant setup, including financial checks and administration

 

General

  • General administrative support across the team (e.g. hotel bookings, car hire, expenses)
  • Hard copy filling of documents as necessary
  • Participate in team meetings
  • Setting up board meetings
  • Maintaining a clean and professional work area

 

Human Resources and Health & Safety

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures including the health and safety policy.
  • Ensure the appropriate personal grooming and wearing of corporate work wear while at work
  • All duties must be carried out in a safe and efficient manner giving due regards to the health and safety and welfare of yourself, colleagues, guests and any other persons who may be affected by your actions.  Any unsafe conditions, equipment or practices must be reported immediately to the appropriate Assistant.

 

In addition to the many day-to-day duties, from time to time, on a temporary or permanent basis, you may be required to undertake additional duties as necessary to meet the needs of the business.

PREVIOUS

EXPERIENCE/

TRAINING

Experience of working within a similar role, together with experience of core financial duties such as: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger.

 

Demonstrable financial knowledge and experience

Experience of working within a university environment.

 

Experience of using ABW Agresso Unit 4
